SWAN VALLEY UPDATE – June 25

On Monday June 22, 2026 The Manitoba Baptist Association held a business meeting, out of that meeting we heard several ways people can be praying for the Swan Valley as they recover from flash flooding.

Prayer Requests

  • For enough volunteers to continue to help with cleanup in Minitonas and the Swan River Valley.
  • Farmers to be able to remove debris from their fields and access crops.
  • Homes to become habitable.
  • Beginning reconstruction in homes, including the FBC Minitonas parsonage.
  • FBC Minitonas, as they determine how to best rebuild their lower level for present and future needs.
  • Christ-followers to model the good news of Jesus in word and deed.
  • The Holy Spirit to move people to hear, see and respond to the gospel.
  • FBC Minitonas leadership as they navigate these challenges.
  • Generosity as churches and people give for future needs at FBC Minitonas.
  • Praise The Lord for people working together, being the hands and feet of Jesus!

Ways to Tangibly Help & Get Involved

  • Volunteers are still needed to continue to help with cleanup in Minitonas and the Swan River Valley. Samaritan’s Purse is organizing and members of FBC Minitonas have come forward to board any MBA volunteers who do come up. Sign up through Samaritan’s Purse’s Website and contact Judy at 1 (204) 734 – 8453 to arrange lodging.
  • First Baptist Church Minitonas is also accepting donations both to help rebuild their building and parsonage as well as to help meet needs in the community. You can e-transfer to fbcminitonas@outlook.com. In the message box please indicate “Capital Fund” if you are donating to help rebuild the church or “Benevolence” if you want to help meet needs in the community.
